Guest Services has a newly created position for a Web Designer/Developer. This person will generate original, visually engaging websites that strategically support our marketing goals. This person will build websites, implement traditional and mobile landing pages, support online optimization, debugging and break/fix projects, all while leveraging the latest online technologies.
The Web Designer/Developer supports the systems that drive the websites, blogs, mobile sites and e-marketing initiatives. This technical professional will also support campaigns involving online lead generation and buyer/customer experience projects, as well as maintain the daily activities required to ensure the seamless integration of our systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Create visual appealing sites that are optimized for search and display content by planning, analyzing, and creating visual solutions that have a logical navigation system.
• Initial point person to coordinate/manage all division web projects, including cost-to-completion projections. Make decisions accordingly.
• Work with the Graphic Design Team Members to implement portions of site in keeping with an established creative direction.
• Work closely with and manage client expectations and deadlines, at all stages, beginning with the design stage to determine why the site is needed, target audience, leading competitors, etc.
• Working knowledge of web analytic tools and results, to ensure proper implementation, site performance, visitor traffic, and marketing ROI.
Research, manage & implement overall strategy for SEO. Ensure content appears high on search rankings with strong keywords.
• Develop pay-per-click advertising campaigns. Create Internet ads.
• Develop and manage templates utilizing HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Ensure compliance with Web standards, accessibility and security requirements.
• Utilize responsive design and UX design principles.
• Proof content in desktop, tablet and mobile forms for accessibility and design standards. Test for cross browser functionality as well.
• Support email campaigns by creating and managing traditional and mobile landing pages.
• Research and recommend plugin solutions.
• Drive the implementation of future web strategy and migration and create digital campaigns
• May be required to perform additional duties as assigned
• Drive traffic to websites using several platforms including social media integration.
• Continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as they emerge.
• Experience with integration of third-party secure online merchant sites or third-party online booking engines a plus.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-7+ years web develop and design experience.
• Familiar with Social Media profiles, SEO analytics and knowledge of web marketing
• Demonstrated proficiency with web-related technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, ftp programs, and knowledge of database systems such as Structure Query Language (SQL).
• Knowledgeable of various server functions/capabilities to ensure appropriate development of web pages.
• Graphic design capability.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Strong proofing skills – Detail-oriented is a MUST!
• WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla experience preferred; general CMS templating and management required. Mobile and responsive experience.
• Integration of hotel booking system with website
• Solid understanding of Google Adwords, Google Tag Manager and familiarity with Google Analytics required with the knowledge of Web standards and accessibility.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with online banner and Ad creation.
• Familiarity with CRM and Marketing Automation tools.
• Seasoned understanding of graphic creation, sizing and conversion, color correction, typography, specs documentation and project management.
• Familiarity with hospitality industry operations a plus.
