EMPLOYMENT TYPE: This position is seasonal and part-time
POSITION SUMMARY: Handles incoming calls and enters new reservations, changes, and cancellations in the property management system for the Paradise Inn and National Park Inn. Provides information to callers about hotels, dining options and park facilities.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Computer, multi-line telephones, FAX machine, ten-key calculator and credit card terminal. NATURE AND SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: Receives working direction from Reservations Supervisor or Sales Manager. 3 Seasonal positions from March/April/May to Oct.1st. Year round positions are not available.
DUTIES
KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Promotes the spirit and intent of Guest Services Hospitality Standards. • Answers incoming calls with a sense of urgency minimizing wait time. • Enter reservations, changes, and cancellations accurately in the property management system. • Assists supervisor in maintaining files and reports. • Provide information to callers about hotels and park facilities. • Maintains daily communication with front desk personnel in response to questions, or problems regarding a reservation. • Performs such other related duties as directed or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
PREREQUISITES: Education: High school graduate. Secondary education is a plus. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Windows based computer experience, proficient typing, and spelling skills with the ability to speak clearly and listen attentively. Similar experience in a call center setting is helpful but not required. PERSONAL QUALITIES AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to speak clearly, listen attentively, and sit for two (2) hour stretches. Proficient typing and spelling skills are required to enter reservations into the property management system and applicants must possess patience, a sense of humor and be able to write legibly as well as read and understand directions and instructions. Appearance must comply with company guidelines. Will be required to perform diverse physical tasks. Must be able to stoop, bend, grasp, and perform repetitive motions. Must be able to sit for 2-hour stretches. Must be able to lift 10 pounds periodically. Must be service and safety oriented with a sense of awareness, timeliness, urgency, humor, and common sense. Must be able to adapt to the isolation of national park life.
